Recommended Models
The original intention of the registry project was to use the ISO status level
of "Preferred" to provide recommendations for ITS data definitions. However,
so far no complete model has achieved "Preferred" status - typically due to
missing documentation on classes or attributes.
Instead of relaxing the status levels, an additional concept of "recommended"
models has been introduced. Models may be "recommended" for particular specified
business contexts, with caveats explaining why they have not yet achieved Preferred
status. "Recommended" is not a status level. The context for the recommendation
is TIH i.e. a recommendation by the TIH Community for use in TIH information services.
There is no plan at present to tie recommendations to any notion of compliance.
Current recommendations:
Context: Publication of traffic data, especially dynamic data and
especially across organisational boundaries
Context: Urban traffic management and control
Context: Real-time information on public transport services and vehicles
Context: Exchanging bus schedules
