Recommendations are set by the Highways Agency.

Recommended Models

The original intention of the registry project was to use the ISO status level of "Preferred" to provide recommendations for ITS data definitions. However, so far no complete model has achieved "Preferred" status - typically due to missing documentation on classes or attributes.

Instead of relaxing the status levels, an additional concept of "recommended" models has been introduced. Models may be "recommended" for particular specified business contexts, with caveats explaining why they have not yet achieved Preferred status. "Recommended" is not a status level.
